Renault India has recently unveiled a facelift version of the Renault Duster. This facelift gets a set of enhancements along with a range of cosmetic updates to make it look more bolder and smarter. Ever since the French automobile manufacturer launched the Renault Duster in Indian market in 2012, it has received a huge admiration and acceptance from all the classes. Also it has been crucial in strongly instituting the company in the country.

Till the 3rd generation Duster releases in India by 2021, the Renault launched another major facelift for 2019 to continue its sales. But the model generation of the SUV is the same. As per the reports, India won't get the 2nd generation Renault Duster while the 3rd generation car will lead the market. It arises many questions like, is it too late to launch a facelift or will it be able to compete in the race against several newer SUVs. Will find out what exactly the 2019 facelift offers to stand out.

With an array of updates like new distinctive projector headlamps with LED DRLs, dual tone body color front bumper with muscular skid plates and a restyled tri-winged full chrome front grille lined with chrome accents give the Renault Duster a unique yet rugged look. Additionally, it is adorned with new roof rails, bonnet, and striking diamond-cut alloy wheels for a bold stance. It is offered in two new paint schemes - Caspian Blue and Mahogany Brown. The tailgates boast black inserts for a new look.

Not only the exterior gets updated, but also the interiors are upgraded with contemporary technology to make it a premium range car. The refurbished interiors and technology includes a new steering wheel, updated upholstery, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice recognition and EcoGuide with an Arkamys sound system. Also, the upgraded infotainment system displays driving modes. The dashboard on passenger side comes with a color strip to match with the exterior body color while the rounded AC vents have been replaced with rectangular units. Renault enhances its safety standards by offering dual airbags, ABS, parking sensors and speed warning as standard across all variants.

The powertrain options are unchanged but the facelift gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine along with the 1.5-litre diesel engine in two states of tune. The 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine delivers 106 PS of maximum power and 142 Nm of peak torque while the 1.5-litre diesel engine churns out 110 PS and 248 Nm. You can choose from a 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox paired with the petrol engine and a 6-speed manual or an AMT mated with the diesel motor.

When compared to the newly launched SUVs in the market, the Renault Duster seems little low on features but it continues to shine as far as pleasure of driving is concerned. Most importantly, its suspension still remains one of the highly balanced in the segment with optimum handling prowess. Furthermore, it is the only SUV in its class which gets optional AWD wherein you can take on the rough too!

When it comes to pricing, the Renault Duster is considered as one of most affordable SUVs in its segment. The price of the new Duster starts at Rs 7.99 Lakh and goes up to Rs 12 Lakh. Having said that, it may scores low on features, but it is certainly going to amaze you with powerful drives with more style, comfort and safety features. Why not book a test ride now if you feel like experiencing its power?
